A study of nine healthy individuals showed that sleeping too little, or only for 4 hours, increased insulin resistance and blood sugar levels.
With sleep, quality is just as important as quantity. A study found that the deepest stage of sleep (NREM) is the most important in terms of blood sugar control.

ALCOHOL:
Alcoholic beverages often contain a lot of added sugar. This is particularly true for mixed drinks and cocktails, which can contain up to 30 grams of sugar per serving.
